Transportation System in Melbourne & Sydney

Transport in Melbourne
The transportation system in Melbourne is very advance and automatic.
With one ticket, we can travel on all trains, trams and bus services.
Just buy a ticket, validate it and travel.

The fare is depend on the Zone areas (Zone 1, 2 or 3) where we are going to travel and how long you need to travel (start from 2 hours, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly).
The cheapest fare for this year (non concession) is A$2.40.
If you want to save further, travel on weekdays after 9 AM (public holidays not included).
All other information can be obtained from http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au

Transport in Sydney

I am not sure about the transportation system in Sydney. So far, we only took the cityrail (train) with single and off-peak ticket.
If you're happy to leave after 9.00am (earlier in some outlying areas such as Katoomba), you can save up to 30 per cent with an Off-peak return ticket. You can also buy an Off-peak return ticket at any time on weekends and public holidays. Your return trip must be completed prior to 4.00am the next day. Please note one way Off-peak tickets are not available.

Central Station, Sydney
