Saturday, 25 April 2009 was a public holiday here, Anzac day celebration.

Most of the shops were closed until 1PM. We had our lunch at Mekong Vietnamese restaurant.

Evening we went to Plume HighPoint for seafood dinner.

We went to Queen Victoria Market for shopping. After that went to have lunch at Malaya Inn, Dancoster. Continue with our own shopping add DFO (Direct Factory Outlet). Quite a good bargain for branded goods, if you opt for branded. We took train back to Hoppers Crossing and we had dinner at Sushi 8, Geelong.

We took train to Melbourne Central to meet our friends, Marian de Souza and for Hannah to shop at Billabong. We took brunch dim sum @ Chinatown, then went to Marian's house @ Carlton. We stopped for Italian ice cream/Gelato despite the cool weather.

With Tony Cho we went to his house and taken our dinner @ Ampang Tofu, Doncaster. He sent us home to Hoppers Crossing.

Early in the morning, Amy and I went to Footscray Flowers Market to see the market with their activity. And we accrossed to the fruits/vegetables market for some fruits shopping. I did try the fig fruit for the first time. The seller were Malaysian, and so happy to see us and called the friends to take photo together.. :)

After market, I started to work in the office. Amy & Hannah went for last minute shopping. They flew back to Singapore/Johor in the evening.

In the morning we went to the market @ Footscray. Then late afternoon we went to Weribee Mansion Park which is Sofitel Hotel now. Just for photo taking as the garden just started being planted for the coming seasons.

Waiting for another 4 days before I going back to Singapore.

We had many visitors from overseas..... so glad to have so many friends come to visit us.

Ru Siu and her mum from Surabaya.
Ru Siu is my close friend since secondary school. We brought them to Esplanade Park, Civic District Area, and No Signboard Seafood @ East Coast.

Lan Jie from Brunei came to Singapore to apply her Canada visa. She stayed with us for 2 nights..

Haryani and his brother came to Singapore for medical check up and stayed with us. Haryani is our U's friend from Madiun.
We went Batam to visit some friends there and met with Gendut/Ida our class friends during our University days...

Guntur and his family, came to Singapore for holiday. We met at Vivo City for dinner with May Leong.

Some friends are coming this April 2009..... Looking forward to meet up with them.

Berselancar di dunia maya seperti Facebook, ada rambu-rambu yang harus dipatuhi. Terutama yang menyangkut privasi. Kalau tidak hati-hati, risikonya cukup besar. Bukannya kesenangan yang didapat, justru harta melayang.

Fenomena Facebook alias FB semakin tak terbendung. Tak heran jika FB dinobatkan sebagai situs pertemanan paling diminati di seantero dunia. Dan, seperti dua sisi berlawanan dari koin, di samping menguntungkan,FB pun mempunyai sisi "buruk". Fitur sederhana seperti status dan foto yang dilengkapi tag yang digemari jutaan pengguna Facebook, ternyata berbahaya jika digunakan secara sembrono. Pasalnya, FB memungkinkan teman (mutual friends) mengetahui detail pribadi penggunanya. Bayangkan saja, cukup dengan meng-update status atau mengubah status hubungan dengan pasangan, secara otomatis semua teman mendapatkan notification (pemberitahuan).

Foto-foto yang diunggah lalu di-tag sembarangan dan diset, bisa dilihat siapa pun yang memiliki jaringan pertemanan, juga tak kalah bahaya, lho.

"Di dunia maya, pencitraan diri dicerminkan lewat apa yang di-posting oleh Anda atau orang lain. Jadi, hati-hati dalam memilih foto untuk di-posting" ucap Donny BU, Senior Researcher ICT (Internet and Communication Technology) Watch.

Intinya, kata Doni, jangan sembarangan menyebar data pribadi, mengubah status, menambah teman yang sama sekali asing, atau mengunggah foto didunia maya secara membabi-buta. Di Inggris, contohnya, suami membunuh istrinya karena sang istri mengubah status pernikahan mereka di FB, dari menikah menjadi lajang. Sang suami pun naik pitam dan gelap mata. Menyeramkan, bukan?

Tak hanya di luar negeri, peristiwa buruk menyangkut salah guna FB juga terjadi di sekeliling kita. Salah satunya menimpa Vira (bukan nama sebenarnya), perempuan berusia 30-an dengan jenjang karier eksekutif di perusahaannya. Sama seperti pengguna FB di berbagai tempat, Vira juga keranjingan. Tiada hari tanpa memperbarui perkembangan terbaru dari akaun pribadi dan tak lupa menjelajahi satu per satu kabar teman-temannya di FB. Suatu hari, dalam boks friend requests, sebuah nama dan foto asing muncul, meminta agar Vira menerima ajakannya untuk berteman. Vira melihat profilnya dan ternyata pria ini berasal dari Turki. Karena tidak memiliki mutual friends, dipastikan dia menggunakan panduan advanced search sampai menemukan akaun Vira, sebuah upaya yang menunjukkan ada usaha lebih dari pria itu. Paras rupawan sang calon teman sedikit banyak membuat hati Vira melunak dan ikon Confirm tanpa ragu, ia klik. Alhasil, resmilah pertemanan mereka. Setelahnya, mereka rajin bertegur sapa di wall untuk menjembatani jauhnya jarak dan perbedaan waktu. Karena si lelaki sangat perhatian dan mengaku punya pekerjaan tetap, Vira mengiyakan ajakan berpacaran. Tak lama kemudian, sang Arjuna datang ke Indonesia. Ia bersikap amat santun dan supel. Dalam sekejap, keluarga besar Vira bisa dekat dengannya. "Dia rajin sekali mendekati keluarga saya", kenang Vira. Ini adalah faktor yang mengakibatkan Vira menaruh kepercayaan besar kepada sang pacar. Belum lagi, pria Turki ini sangat royal secara materi, "Waktu saya lihat dan menyukai sebuah cincin, dia langsung membelikannya, " ujar Vira. Bahkan, saat Vira berulang tahun, dia mentransfer uang puluhan juta ke rekening Vira sebagai hadiah.

Ajak Nikah Berujung Amarah

Singkat cerita, mereka memutuskan untuk menikah. Tiba-tiba, Vira teringat sesuatu, "Kalau saya dinikahi dia, berarti saya harus ikut ke Turki dan meninggalkan semua yang saya miliki di sini." Mendadak, hati Vira menjadi kurang sreg. "Apa benar dia suka dengan saya?" pikirVira. Tak ingin menyesal, Vira lalu memutuskan hubungan mereka secara baik-baik. Reaksi tak terduga muncul dari negeri seberang. Sang pacar marah tak karuan, sampai mengancam dan meneror tiada henti. Diburu amarah, lelaki itu mendatangi Vira ke Indonesia dan mengajaknya bertemu di hotel. Ancamannya tidak main-main, Vira harus mengembalikan semua pemberiannya yang bernilai ratusan juta rupiah, "Dia ingat detailnya, karena semua tercatat dengan baik di pembukuannya. " Kontan, Vira ketakutan. Bahkan, ketika teman-temannya menyuruhnya melapor kepolisi, dia menolak. "Saya malu dan takut," begitu alasan Vira. Alhasil, Vira pontang-panting mencari dana agar "utangnya" lunas. "Tabungan saya sampai habis, akhirnya terpaksa meminjam sana-sini", keluh Vira. Masalah belum usai, karena hingga sekarang Vira masih berutang kepada teman dan keluarganya. "Sungguh melelahkan," keluhnya. Kapokkah Vira main FB? "Enggak! Saya hanya lebih selektif memilih teman. Interaksi di FB hanya dengan teman-teman yang benar-benar dekat," tandasnya.

Kasus Vira, kata Doni, sebetulnya tak akan terjadi jika saja Vira tidak asal menerima undangan berteman. Apalagi kalau hanya untuk menambah jumlah teman. "Lihat dulu, berapa banyak mutual friends. Semakin sedikit, berarti tidak banyak teman yang mengenalnya. Ini berarti risikonya lebih besar. Tidak perlu sampai ribuan teman, karena wajarnya, setiap akaun FB memiliki 120 teman." *

Hati2 kalo masang foto di internet... bisa2 malu sendiri kayak yang di foto ini.... Cari tahu sendiri deh.. apa yang salah di foto ini. Test mata!

By Value Air with my boss, I went to Jakarta and then direct proceed to Sukabumi to visit our suppliers' farms.

At Sukabumi, we stayed at Hotel Taman Sari, quite old but nice hotel.

Saturday night, after finished meeting with the suppliers, my cousin Tintin/Tony sent me to another cousin's house at Bekasi.

Sunday morning I went to Bagio's bro house and in the afternoon met with Agatha/Didi before went to airport sent by Tri/Rahma to fly back to Singapore. Bagio was waiting for me at the airport.. Tks, dear!

Just out for a walk

Faith called us that they have one young korean guest, Hayong, who is staying with them. They wanted to bring him for a night walk, and since both of us were free, so................ let's go!!

We brought him to Esplanade, Merlion Park and Cavenagh Bridge. Then we went to Bukit Timah for supper. We orderd Sate (mutton, chicken, beef), tissue prata, pataya, dan murtabak mutton. The drinks were: ice soursop (a bit sour but very refreshing), ice olive, redbean milk shake .. all very nice to try!

Believe it or not, this Indian eating place is just at the small lane, but the waitress using wireless HP 212 to take your orders. And when you want to pay, they just keyed-in yr table number and the bill will be printed out. Is really amazing for consider not even a restaurant and without aircond place.

Principle

Just a small intermezzo ...

One night few of us were gathering around the dining table.
We just chit-chat and suddenly someone said that I good to be a principle. I can be very strict with the children....

So, I told them if I were the principle, I will do the following:
1. Staff meeting once a year....... at the beginning of the year.
2. The agenda of the meeting to remind every staff about the 2 rules.
3. The rules are:
- Rules number 1: The principle always right
= Rules number 2: If the principle make any mistake, please refer to rule number 1.

Agreed???

I claimed from the credit card point one free ticket to enter Singapore Zoo...

Actually we have been to the Zoo for many times, but again this time we wanted to go there again. The main reason was for Bagio to practice his skill in taking the photo.

After church meeting, I told one of my friend that we were going to the Zoo.. and she just burst her laugh when she heard this and said "I thought ZOO is only for kids?" Ha?????

But when we arrived at the Zoo, believe it or not, so many adults (without kid) also there... So her comment was wrong............ Anyway, we did enjoy the day... the weather just nice for us to walk and we were walking for more than 4 hours..........

Morning I went to airport to fetch Bagio's brother & sis-in-law, Trijosono & Rahma.

From airport, since still early to go for shopping, we just stopped and sat at East Coast Park. Then we went to Funan Centre while waiting for Bagio to arrive. After we got what they need to buy, we went for another shopping at IMM until about 5pm, then went home.

We dropped them at Water Loo before we went to church. After church's meeting, we fetched them and we went for lunch at the nearby place. From them we went to Botanic Garden and National Orchid Garden. And then we went to Esplanade and Merlion Park for sightseeing. We had dinner "Just Noodle" @ Suntec City. Free flow of drinks and ice cream...!!!!

I dropped them at Raffles Place for their business meeting. Then I met with my ex boss and May Leong for lunch. After that we went to Sentosa just let them know what is Sentosa like... Night time just stay at home after dinner at Chicken Wing @ Commenwealth.

Bagio took leave to accompany them. They went to Jurong Bird Park until afternoon and then fetched me from the office and we went straight to airport as they went back to Jakarta today.

Bagio was very happy that finally his brother could visit him.... I also happy for him!

With Jimmy & Joanie, we went to Sentosa to see the Flower Show.. but somehow, this year the exhibition not as good as the years before... Many of the flowers were still in its buds, not yet blooming and also the variety not that much. Maybe because they cut the budget due to the recent economy condition. (For example: compare from the pictures here, the bigger picture is 2009 and the smaller one was taken 2008). Just managed to snatched some pictures..

From there, we went to Pasir Panjang Hawker Centre for dinner, and then to Chinatown to joint the crowds and feel the atmosphere of Chinese New Year......

In the morning we went to HortPark for photo session.......... I meant for Bagio to practice his skill in photography.

We went to Seah Imm for lunch and shocked when we saw the queue of those who wanted to go to Sentosa by bus.......... wow........ !!!! I believed that they have to queue more than 2 hours just to hop into the bus... This happened last year too. Maybe because many of those foreign workers were on holiday and they took the opportunity to relax and gathering at Sentosa by paying $3.00 for whole day........!

Since we have no other program (actually we wanted to go to Zoo by using the voucher that I collected by exchanged credit card points, but the T&C said that the voucher can not be used during CNY's periods..), soooooooo we changed the direction and went to Sentosa (again!) for another photo session and relax by the beach...............
